TutorInc is a tutoring service for international school and university students in Vienna, Austria. They provide one-on-one and small group tutoring and needed a logo to showcase their focus on math and physics. A crisp, slab serif typeface was selected to echo the academic theme in the name. The letter "O" in tutor was replaced with a light bulb icon to symbolize the moment of clarity as a student learns, and the bulb was filled with an "Angle at the Center" circle theorem to specify that those moments would be in the fields of math and physics. Using a circle theorem also presented an opportunity to bring in meaningful color and help the logo pop.
To spread the word about their services, TutorInc came back to me with a request for a promotional flyer. The flyer needed to be an editable PDF they could update on their own as their offerings changed; as well as stand out on a board full of notifications.
I chose the words 'Make Math Simple' from the body text provided in the briefing and used that phrase as the slogan and showcase of the flyer. You don't have long to capture your audience's attention, so a clear topic statement of your offering(s) is vital to an effective piece of marketing. A bright background color never hurts either :)
A few playful icons guide the eye from the slogan to important details and finally the contact info. Flyer complete!
